Day 1 Sunday: Meet our coach this morning on a leisurely drive to the Wirral Peninsula on the ‘other’ side of the river Mersey from Liverpool. Here we board a famous ‘Ferry across the Mersey’ and sail into the City for the best views of the famous Liverpool Skyline including the legendary Liver Birds.
Whilst you’re on the Ferry your coach will take the Mersey Tunnel under you and be waiting at Liverpool Pier head to collect you when you arrive.
From here we go to the Albert Dock - Liverpool’s most visited attraction. Designed by architect Jesse Hartley and opened in 1846 by Prince Albert, it was the world’s first enclosed dock.
Refurbished in 1984 it is now a UNESCO world heritage site and the largest collection of Grade 1 listed buildings in Britain and home to Tate Liverpool, Beatles Story, Maritime Museum and Slavery Museum as well as numerous speciality shops, bars and cafes.
Late afternoon we all meet back at the coach and go on to our hotel – just a few minutes away.
Day 2 Monday: Enjoy a hearty buffet-style breakfast this morning before we check-out.
We’ve arranged for a local guide to meet our coach this morning and give us a tour of the city. Nothing to high-brow, but a good insight into some of the landmark buildings and history behind them. Some Beatles (of course) and a good dose of Scouse humour.
We finish our tour at the vibrant new shopping area known as ‘Liverpool One’ and you now have a couple of hour’s free time to browse the shops and perhaps a spot of lunch.
Around 1:00pm we leave Liverpool One and finish our time in Liverpool with a visit to one of the most amazing and largest Cathedrals in the world.
As we arrive you will see the sheer scale from close-up outside is overwhelming and then inside, simply awe-inspiring.
A guided tour will tell you history of this incredible building and you’ll discover - vast as it may be, it is still a profoundly intimate space. A spiritual and peaceful retreat in a busy world.
An afternoon cream tea in the Cathedral is included and then we leave Liverpool for home.
Price includes: Coach, Ferry, Hotel, Dinner, Breakfast, Guided city tour, Cathedral tour and Cream Tea. Single Supplement £20
