Day 1: Join the coach on Sunday morning for our leisurely journey to Stratford-upon-Avon. Once the coach has set down, you’ll have ample time to explore this ancient market town with time for lunch later if you wish.
Stratford is a beautiful town and it is amazing to think that it was set out as a new town in 1196, on a medieval grid system. This is why the streets are straight and why it is easy to find your way around.
Popular attractions include Shakespeare’s birthplace in Henley Street and Holy Trinity church where he is buried.
The River Avon meanders through the town, and if you take one of the many cruises on offer, you’ll find it a good way to have popular sights pointed out to you.
We leave Stratford around 4pm and have an hour’s drive to our hotel near Cheltenham.
Arrive with time to settle-in and freshen up before dinner this evening.
After dinner you may like to relax with a drink in the bar. Maybe a stroll in the grounds or enjoy a dip in the pool or a workout in the Gym.
Guest rooms have movies on demand, internet access, en-suite bathrooms, etc.
Day 2: Enjoy a hearty breakfast before we leave the hotel and board our coach and see 3 of the nicest towns and villages of the Cotswolds. First stop, Bourton-on-the-Water, then on to Stow-on-the-Wold (time for lunch in Stow) and finally, sleepy Broadway, possibly the most picturesque of all. We leave the Cotswolds mid-afternoon and arrive home early evening.
