Day 1: You’ll arrive at your hotel late afternoon with time to settle-in and freshen-up before dinner this evening.
Day 2: A full day out today as we head west – leaving Devon behind as we cross the River Tamar into Cornwall and visit two beautiful coastal villages.
Polperro - an enchanting jumble of cottages, each one unmistakably the work of a Cornish fisherman. Wending your way through the traffic-free streets to the small harbour, you're treading the paths where barrows of fish were once carted and, under cover of night, brandy casks and tobacco bales were carried into their hideouts. Make no mistake, this peaceful fishing cove, mellow Polperro, was once a thriving centre for the area's smuggling activity.
Looe is situated on both sides of the River Looe. In medieval times East Looe and West Looe were separate towns. They are joined by a seven arched bridge, built in 1853. This replaced a much earlier bridge from the 15th century and there are still buildings of this period in the town. One of Looe’s oldest buildings is the Old Guildhall in East Looe. It dates back to around 1500. It was formerly the town hall, but now houses the Museum.
Day 3: After breakfast – a morning trip to the beautiful town of Dartmouth on the banks of the estuary of the river Dart.
Explore the variety of unique shops all located around the harbourside and quaint streets and enjoy the delightful riverside traditional style Park with bandstand.
We return to Paignton early afternoon so you have the chance to spend some time in your resort.
Day 4: Today is left free so you can explore Paignton at your own pace
Day 5: We leave for home after a last, hearty ‘Queens’ breakfast to see us on our way.
