An ideal Mini Break for the green-fingered, this 2-day trip takes in three glasshouses in three wonderful gardens
Day 1 (Saturday): Your coach will take you to the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew, more commonly known as Kew Gardens. We arrive in the early afternoon and will have time for something to eat followed by an informative guided tour.
Kew’s famous Palm House was constructed in 1844 and is the gardens’ most recognisable building – and one of the world's most notable Victorian glass and iron structures. We should have some free time in the gardens before heading to our hotel.
Day 2 (Sunday): After breakfast we visit two more gardens – firstly RHS Wisley in Surrey. Here we will be treated to a guided tour before having some free time to explore the gardens, have lunch and visit the Glasshouse, a huge cathedral-like glass structure with three climatic zones, recreating tropical, moist temperate and dry temperate habitats.
Our second glasshouse of the day is a 30-minute drive away, at Savill Gardens, part of Windsor Great Park. The Queen Elizabeth Temperate House was opened in 1995. Our final guided tour is on arrival, then we will have time to explore the gardens before leaving to go home.
Price includes: 1 night B/B basis, coach travel, entrance to gardens and guided tours. Single room supplement applies.
Hotel: For this Mini Break we will be staying in a high quality hotel in the Greater London area, with all modern amenities.
