We are a family-run business with plenty of experience

GB Tours is a well-respected UK coach holiday company with more than 38 years’ experience in the business. Established in Birkenhead, Wirral in 1984, our family-owned firm started out selling concert tickets and coach breaks to passengers in and around the Merseyside area. Today – still run by the same family – we operate more than 15 routes all over England and Wales, offering a wide range of day trips, mini breaks and longer coach holidays throughout the UK, plus an increasing number of European trips and sea and river cruises. Every year we take nearly 60,000 passengers away – many of them returning again and again because they know they can trust us to offer what they want, at a price they can afford.

We offer consistently high standards and great value for money

Our passengers regularly praise us on the value for money we provide. Because most of our holidays are booked direct, we are able to negotiate special deals with the hotels and transport suppliers we use, many of whom we have excellent longstanding relationships with. For you, the passengers, this means we are able to keep our prices down while maintaining our consistently high standards. All of the hotels we use are highly rated (most of them obtaining three and four stars), and we only use the best, comfiest coaches going…

We give friendly, helpful advice

You’ll find our experienced Reservations Team – most of whom have been with us for a long time – care that you find the perfect holiday for you. They won’t ever push you into booking something which isn’t suitable for your needs – for instance, if you have limited mobility. Most of our team have visited the hotels and resorts we travel to, so have first-hand experience they can pass on, enabling you to make a more informed choice.

We don’t use ‘feeder’ coaches

Passengers have told us time and time again they dislike the ‘feeder coach’ experience offered by many other holiday companies. The endless pick-up points, wandering around all over the country before heading to the destination, plus the transferring of luggage from one coach to another and hanging around in car parks, is a cause of frustration and irritation. Well, we’re proud that we never use feeder coaches – you’ll get on one coach at your pick-up point and stay on it until you reach your resort. That means you experience a smoother, quicker, more enjoyable journey – and, we believe, an all-round better holiday.

We offer carefully-planned itineraries

We think a coach holiday firm should do more than just take you to and from a hotel. The majority of our breaks include interesting and popular excursions to a wide variety of local attractions, plus free days to relax and do as you please. The excursions are all included in our price, so there’ll be no hidden extras to pay – and of course, if you don’t want to join us you don’t have to!

Great Houses and Gardens of Yorkshire (U)

The Crown Hotel was perfectly situated in Harrogate. Lovely Valley Gardens a 5 minute walk away - beautiful. Hotel staff were friendly, helpful and food was delicious. Excursion on the steam train from Emblay to Bolton Abbey was very good, only one complaint, not enough time to go and explore the Abbey Ruins. We also visited Markenfield Hall, absolutely fantastic. It’s true what they say “THE LOVELIST PLACE YOU’VE NEVER HEARD OF.” The guide was excellent, she brought the house to life with the history of the building plus the families who lived there, past and present. We felt the trip to RHS Harlow Carr was too long, but it may have been the weather, it was a very hot day, we were trying to find shady walks. Harewood House and Gardens were stunning. We could have done with longer there. By the time we had done the tour of the house, it was time to meet up with the Gardner (who was excellent), for a tour of the gardens and grounds. We ran out of time for him to show us everything in the grounds. So we didn’t have time to visit specific areas on our own either. On the whole a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. This is our first Stately Homes and Gardens holiday, we enjoyed so much we have now booked for Stately Homes and Gardens in Cheshire for 2026. Ps we must also add we have done and have booked more of the Warner Hotel Breaks, which are our favourites.

Liverpool Mini Break (D)

This trip with GB Tours was brilliant from start to finish. Our driver, Chris was informative, professional and had a great sense of humour thrown in. He really made our trip extra special, especially as this was my sisters first trip with yourselves. Amazing value too, the hotel was lovely and the guide was so knowledgeable. We'll definitely be joining you again!

Lake District Mini Break (D)

A lovely, relaxing 2 days. Visited lovely little towns and stayed at holiday Inn hotel, Barrow. The coach driver, Graham , was very knowledgeable about the area and was polite and helpful the whole journey. We had to detour from the M6 on the return journey due to an accident but Graham took it all in his stride and he got us safely home. I will definitely be using GB tours again.

Great Houses and Gardens of Yorkshire (D)

We had a great journey up to the above gardens of Yorkshire with an excellent driver who was very informative each day of our 5 day trips. We were a little disappointed that our request for a walk in shower (which was confirmed from Head Office) was not available. The reception staff were not aware of this request and said the room with a walk in shower was not available until the following day. We therefore didn't unpack until the following day when we moved to the room with the walk in shower. Suggestions:- Harlow Carr is one of the great RHS gardens and we felt (along with other coach goers) that 3 hours was not long enough. Harewood House, another wonderful place to visit could have been extended a little as the talk/tour with the gardener had to be cut short due to lack of time. Thank you for showing us some beautiful places.

Cambridge and Ely Mini Break (D)

This was a wonderful trip. Very well organised, the driver very helpful and friendly and the hotel was the best I have ever stayed in. I can't wait to do another Cambridge trip so I can stay there again! There was just the right amount of time at Ely which is definitely worth seeing. The next day after a delicious evening meal the evening before and a lovely breakfast we set off to Cambridge to pick up our guide. The tour of Cambridge by coach was very interesting and informative and helped me choose decide where to explore in the generous free time given. It was a "full on" trip, we did a lot in 2 full days but it must be the best short holiday I have taken. I can fully recommend it all from the good organisation, lovely trips and wonderful hotel.

ABBA Voyage, London (U)

Thank you for a great trip, - we were picked up on time from Hereford Train Station by Graham. Graham & Alex are a great credit to your company. Graham kept us informed through the trip where unfortunately the road was shut @ Birdlip and he had to make a detour through Cheltenham. Once in London he gave us commentary on local land marks and funny stories, also when leaving London on Monday. The bus was comfortable and clean . Graham is a true gentleman . We enjoyed the show , had great seats , again Graham was there to pick us up when we came out. The hotel was a fantastic experience we loved it , a great choice. Thank you GB tours , everything with this trip was fabulous also great value. thank you .
