Over the past 40 years, a series of interlinked gardens have blossomed at Highgrove, each reflecting The King's artistic touch and nurtured with imagination and passion. Managed organically and with sustainability in mind, these havens have become vital habitats for diverse wildlife.

The King's Foundation
The sale of Highgrove Products, Garden Tours and Events support and enable the life and work of The King’s Foundation.
In 2021, stewardship of Highgrove Gardens passed to The King's Foundation. The Foundation, established in 2018 through a merger of several of His Majesty's previous charitable endeavours, also oversees other properties like Dumfries House, The Castle and Gardens of Mey, and The Garrison Chapel.
Your visit also includes a delightful pre-arranged dining experience in the elegant Orchard Room Restaurant.

Garden Highlights
Highgrove Gardens comprise a varied collection of landscapes, from the genteel environs of the Sundial Garden to the unstructured beauty of the Wildflower Meadow. There is much to discover in this extraordinary collection, a garden over 35 years in the making, created with passion, vision and dedication by HM King Charles III.
The gardens encapsulate the unique ambience of Highgrove and showcase its rich variety of landscaping and flora and fauna.

KITCHEN GARDEN
Highgrove’s Kitchen Garden is a perfect example of a highly productive but beautifully ornamental walled garden, offering something to see throughout the year. From the moment you step through the gate, you find yourself enticed along one of the many paths forming the bones of this vital garden.

THE ARBORETUM
The Arboretum is an area of the garden that has been developed since 1992. Numerous varieties of acer, beech and cherry trees have been planted and have now grown, as well as

THE STUMPERY
A verdant landscape of tree stumps, ferns and wood-carved sculptures awaits you in The Stumpery, one of the most distinctive areas of the estate. Inspired by Victorian gardening techniques, the Stumpery is filled with points of interest; a thatched tree house, a National Collection of hostas and an exquisite oak temple, to name just a few.

COTTAGE GARDEN
A glorious scheme inspired by the colours of Tibet meets a more traditional English style in this idyllic garden, planted with a mixture of trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants. Featuring spring and autumn-flowering bulbs, the Cottage Garden delights throughout the year and houses a charming oak summer house, co-designed by HM The King Charles III.

SUNDIAL GARDEN
With a stone sundial at its centre, box hedging and beds planted with blue, pink and purple delphiniums, this elegant garden encapsulates the classic country estate aesthetic. Beautifully vibrant during the summer months, the garden takes on a more ethereal quality during the winter, when willow sculptures act as the garden’s focal point.

THYME WALK
Experience a more contemporary side of the Gardens at Highgrove along the Thyme Walk. This gracious avenue features some twenty varieties of thyme, interspersed with golden marjoram and primroses. Its pleasing symmetry is enhanced by a collection of yew trees, clipped into bold, geometric shapes, while the main lawn is edged with a striking topiary yew hedge, designed by Sir Roy Strong.

WILDFLOWER MEADOW
Enjoy one of the most picturesque aspects of Highgrove at the Wildflower Meadow, which stretches out across 4 acres in front of the house. Complementing the Georgian building with its rambling natural beauty, the meadow transforms with the seasons and nurtures a mix of wildflowers and trees, including a National Collection of beech

Dine in the Orchard Room Restaurant
Your Highgrove Gardens tour includes a delicious two-course lunch in the Orchard Room Restaurant. After your garden tour, you will be shown to your reserved table to enjoy your meal. The price of your tour includes this dining experience, and the Orchard Room offers full table service. A selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available to purchase to complement your meal.

Allow time to browse in the Highgrove Shop at The Coronation Pavilion during your visit, where you’ll find a selection of bespoke Highgrove products, including special edition artworks.
Inspired by the gardens, our collection includes a delicious range of Highgrove food and alcohol, homeware, and accessories, as well as other unique pieces exclusively designed for Highgrove.

Important Information

• Highgrove is the private home of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla. All visitors must bring a form of photographic ID, ideally a passport, driving licence, or bus pass.
• Due to the landscape and nature of the Gardens, wheelchairs and mobility scooters should be well suited to rough, uneven ground, gravel, and rugged pathways.
• Some surfaces may also be slippery when wet. We suggest wearing sturdy shoes and suitable outdoor clothing, especially in wet weather. If you have any accessibility concerns, please bring these to the attention of the booking agent.
• The use of mobile phones and cameras (including dash cam recording) is restricted to certain areas of the Estate, which will be explained to you on entry. Binoculars and other forms of recording equipment are not allowed for security reasons.
• Random bag checks may be carried out for security reasons.
• Smoking, including vaping and the use of e-cigarettes, is not permitted anywhere at Highgrove.
