Atlantic Loop: Coastal France, Scilly Isles & Irish Charm

French Harbours, Scilly Seascapes, Irish Welcome
A22827LV | Wednesday 20th September 2028 | 9 nights from Liverpool

This 9-night Atlantic coastal cruise sails roundtrip from Liverpool, offering a relaxed loop through historic French ports, atmospheric island scenery and Irish coastal culture aboard Ambition. Flowing naturally between regions shaped by the sea, the itinerary balances cultural depth with moments of calm and reflection.

Discover centuries of maritime heritage in Cherbourg and St Malo, where harbourfronts, stone streets and fortified skylines reveal the enduring relationship between town and tide. Brest provides a more contemporary perspective on France’s Atlantic coast, with wide ocean views and a strong seafaring identity. The pace softens in the Isles of Scilly, where a call at St Mary’s offers clear waters, gentle coastal walks and wide horizons that encourage unhurried exploration. In Ringaskiddy, colourful streets and a rich maritime past bring warmth and character, before the voyage returns north via Belfast and back to Liverpool.

Thoughtfully paced and full of contrast, this Liverpool roundtrip cruise is ideal for travellers who enjoy coastal exploration with a softer rhythm - combining history, island calm and ever-changing Atlantic scenery in a rewarding late-season journey.

CRUISE HIGHLIGHTS

 - Cherbourg

Cherbourg is a proud maritime city with a long connection to the sea. Its wide harbour, historic quays and naval heritage give it a purposeful yet welcoming feel. Stroll along the waterfront, explore cultural landmarks or enjoy the relaxed pace of a city shaped by ocean life and history.

 - Brest

Facing the wide Atlantic, Brest is shaped by the sea in every sense. Its long maritime history is reflected in broad harbours, naval heritage and open waterfront spaces, while modern cafés and promenades add a contemporary feel. Coastal walks and viewpoints reveal sweeping ocean vistas, and the city’s relaxed rhythm makes it easy to explore without hurry. Brest offers a different side of France - confident, outward-looking and deeply connected to the water.

 - St Mary's

Arriving in St Mary’s feels like stepping into a softer version of England, shaped by sea air and light. White beaches curve gently around clear waters, while narrow lanes lead past cottages, cafés and subtropical gardens. Walk the historic Garrison for sweeping island views, or take to the water for a short boat trip to neighbouring isles. Life here unfolds outdoors, unhurried and quietly joyful. St Mary’s is calm, bright and deeply restorative.
