Enjoy a leisurely cruise along the River Severn on ‘Sabrina – Goddess of the River’.
Sabrina is a triple deck, modern passenger boat with retractable roof and sides on the top deck.
We’ll take a 45 minute cruise on the river during which your Captain will provide an interesting and insightful commentary on landmarks along the river and Shrewsbury’s local history. During the cruise, the boat staff will serve you tea/coffee and biscuits.
Important Note – there is wheelchair access for the boat, but please note that the toilets are only accessed via Five Steps down to the lower deck.
After the cruise, we have booked you in for a lovely, fish and chips lunch at The Loopy Shrew. It’s a lovely place for a spot of lunch.
After lunch, you now have a couple of hours free to wander around Shrewsbury and see some of the local sights or maybe browse the shops.
Shrewsbury
Set amidst glorious countryside near the Welsh Borders, Shrewsbury is one of England's finest medieval market towns.
The town centre is packed with timber-framed black & white buildings and boasts over 660 listed buildings including the Castle and the world-famous Shrewsbury Abbey. Part of the town's medieval street plan still exists today featuring Shrewsbury's Shuts and Passages - a unique maze of narrow alleys and cobbled streets which criss-cross the town centre.
Shrewsbury is fortunate to have its own beautiful, 23-acre parkland known as The Quarry. At its centre lies the Dingle, a formal floral masterpiece created by world-renowned gardener Percy Thrower.
Charles Darwin, renowned for his theory of evolution, is Shrewsbury’s famous son. Born and educated in the town, Shrewsbury was the inspiration and influence for Darwin.
We’ll aim to depart Shrewsbury around 3pm.
