*Glamis Castle
Located in Angus, Glamis Castle is one of Scotland’s most picturesque and storied castles. It has been the ancestral seat of the Earls of Strathmore and Kinghorne since the 14th century. Famously, it was the childhood home of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, and the birthplace of Princess Margaret. The castle is steeped in legend and lore, including associations with Macbeth—although Shakespeare's version is largely fictionalized. With its dramatic turrets, sweeping grounds, and richly decorated rooms, Glamis captures the romance and mystery of Scotland’s past.
*Scone Palace
Situated near Perth, Scone Palace is a historic house on the site of ancient Scone Abbey, where Scottish kings were traditionally crowned. Most notably, it was the original home of the Stone of Scone (or Stone of Destiny), used in coronation ceremonies for centuries. The palace is now a stately Gothic-style mansion and is still the seat of the Earls of Mansfield. Surrounded by lush gardens and woodland, Scone Palace offers insight into both medieval and Georgian history, and is closely tied to the formation of the Scottish nation.
*The Royal Yacht Britannia
Moored in Leith, Edinburgh, the Royal Yacht Britannia served the British Royal Family from 1954 until its decommissioning in 1997. It was a floating royal residence, hosting world leaders and sailing over a million nautical miles during its service. Designed to be both elegant and practical, Britannia played a key role in diplomacy and royal tours. Now open to the public, visitors can explore the ship’s bridge, royal apartments, and engine room, offering a rare glimpse into the private lives of the Royal Family at sea.
