Co Wexford Ireland's Sunniest Corner (A)

Officially the sunniest Co in Ireland, Wexford is regarded as one of the best regions to visit in the country – home to some of Ireland’s loveliest beaches and steeped in historical gems.

Day 1: We head for Holyhead and take the afternoon to Dublin. Our hotel in Enniscorthy is under two hours from Dublin Port.

Day 2: We see two fascinating historical gems today – first, the Dunbrody Famine ship – a vessel famous for its connection to the devastating potato famine of 1845-49 and the exodus of thousands of Irish residents to the new world.
We also see the Kennedy Homestead. Former home of the 1^st generation of the American presidential dynasty – once visited by the president himself in 1963.

Day 3: A trip to Ballykissangel and the hills of Co Wicklow. Leaving about 9:30, make our way up to Avoca Hand Weavers for morning coffee, a short walk away is the village of Avoca where Ballykissangel, the BBC TV Series was filmed. From here make our way to Glendalough Abbey, followed by an afternoon visit to Mount Usher Gardens.

Day 4: Free day in the bustling own of Enniscorthy. If you fancy further afield, take the train to Dublin or Wexford town.

Day 5: We leave after breakfast for Dublin and our afternoon ferry home.
