Day 1: Coach and ferry to Ireland, arriving at your hotel in Killaloe in time for dinner.
Day 2: Today, we have booked you in for a 1-hour river cruise on the scenic River Shannon. The quay is just a short walk from the hotel and your driver will escort you.
The circular cruise takes us to Lough Derg, past picturesque landscapes and interesting sites, with an informative commentary so you don’t miss anything. The comfortable boat has an open deck upstairs and an enclosed, cosy deck below, so you can sit wherever you feel most comfortable.
When the boat returns to Killaloe, the rest of the day is yours to explore this small riverside market town steeped in history - at your own pace. When ready, make your way back to your hotel where you can relax, take in the Lake views with a coffee or take advantage of the facilities.
Day 3: After breakfast - enjoy a scenic drive to explore the area. We will be driving around the impressive body of water that is Lough Derg, stopping a while in the town of Nenagh, County Tipperary, then onwards to a traditional pub for an included lunch of Irish stew made with Guinness before taking the scenic, Lakeside route back to our hotel.
Day 4: Today we visit the fascinating Foynes Flying Boat and Maritime Museum, where we are booked in for a tour and an Irish coffee. This amazing museum celebrates the pioneering days of aviation, the rich maritime history of the River Shannon and the port of Foynes, plus (perhaps surprisingly) the local invention of Irish coffee!
Later we drive to the attractive town of Adare for some free time, before heading back to our hotel.
Day 5: We head for home after breakfast.
