Waverley boasts a rich history and showcases a magnificent triple expansion steam engine that will leave you in awe. Experience the authentic charm of a real steamship as you hear the telegraph ring, witness the engine’s graceful motion, and sense the gentle aroma of hot oil and steam. You can even watch the paddles turning through the portholes!
She has operated in preservation since 1975 and become a “national treasure” carrying over six million passengers.
This summer, Waverley makes a rare visit to the northwest and GBTours’ has secured a limited number of places for a special cruise.
North Wales Coast Scenic Voyage 20th June 2026
On Saturday 20th June Waverley embarks on a 3-hour cruise from Liverpool, to Llandudno. From the river Mersey, around the Wirral peninsula, crossing the mouth of the Dee estuary, passing Hilbre Island, she makes her way along the beautifully scenic north Wales coast to Llandudno where passengers disembark and enjoy the afternoon at leisure.
Having around 3 hours free in the resort, there’s more than enough time to make the most of your visit. You could take a famous tram ride up the great Orme, stroll along the huge, crescent shaped promenade, perhaps a spot of shopping and still have time for a leisurely alfresco lunch.
Around 4pm our coaches will collect you from a pre-arranged pick-up point in Llandudno and return you to your local area drop off point.

During your cruise, indulge in a hot or cold snack, afternoon tea and cake, a hearty meal in the Dining Saloon, or relax in one of the comfortable lounges.
You are also welcome to bring your own picnic (however, please don’t bring alcohol aboard as the ship has a full bar service) No cruise is complete without visiting the Souvenir Shop, where exclusive gifts and mementos await, allowing you to carry a piece of Waverley’s legacy home with you.
Price includes coach to Liverpool, your passage on the Waverley Steamer and of course, your coach return from Llandudno @ £89 pp.

- As you are travelling on an historic ship, sensible footwear is advised, and the trip may not be suitable for those with mobility issues.
