Day 1: We arrive at our hotel in Grange-over-Sands this afternoon for 4 nights.Day 2: Included excursion; a circular tour around the centre of the Lake District National Park passing Rydal Water, Grasmere Lake, Esthwaite Waters and Coniston Water along the way with stops at Grasmere, Ambleside, Hawkeshead and Coniston.Day 3: A trip into the nearby Yorkshire Dales. First stop at Carnforth - the painstakingly restored train station. Setting for the 1946 film ‘Brief Encounter’. Next we enjoy what is arguably the best train trip in England - the famous Settle to Carlisle line.Day 4: Included excursion; Train (usually steam) through the beautiful scenery of the Leven Valley to Lakeside. From here we cruise on Lake Windermere to Bowness with time to yourself here.Day 5: Leave for home after a last, hearty ‘Cumbrian’ breakfast.Price pp based on 2 sharing includes 4 nights D/B/B plus excursions as shown including associated fees.
